The supergrain ancient food for today. 100% whole grain. Excellent source. Whole Grain Quinoa is the most nutritious of all grain. It's high in fiber, a good source of Iron, and has all eight essential amino acids. So, it's no wonder that it was a primary staple of the ancient Incas of South America. Quinoa has a delicate nutty flavor and is very easy to prepare, Widely versatile, it's great by itself or in any recipe that calls for whole grain. Our Quinoa has been thoroughly rinsed and air dried to remove the naturally occurring bitter saponins, so it can be used without rinsing. USDA organic. Certified 100% organic by QAI. All natural. Bob's Red Mill products labeled gluten free are batch tested in our quality control laboratory. We use an Elisa Gluten Assay test to determine if a product is gluten free. 5 out of 5 stars Yummy!   February 27, 2010
Jody (Northwest Ohio)
Quinoa is the most user-friendly grain I've ever found. It cooks in the same amount of time and same liquid to solid ratio as white rice, but it has a flavor and a little crunch that's not as bland as rice. Cook it in water or broth; add some sauteed onion and garlic or some ratatouille and it's a wonderful quick lunch. Serve it as a bed for salmon or chicken and it's an equally delicious and fast dinner.

Bob's Red Mill Quinoa is my first experience with this ancient grain, and I'll be a fan for life. Although I've read that quinoa should be washed before cooking to eliminate a bitter flavor, I've not had to do that with this brand. It does have a bitey quality, but I happen to like it. Even my meat and potatoes husband likes quinoa!

5 out of 5 stars Quinoa - Tried It for the First Time   February 4, 2010

I tried Quinoa from Bob's Red Mill for the first time looking for gluten-free alternatives as well as good source of fiber. I prepared the Taboule recipe on the bag. It is simply outstanding. It is mild in taste and takes up the complimentary flavors quite nicely. Ingredients in the Taboule are Quinoa, lemon juice, olive oil, parsley, basil, onion, salt and pepper. I can't wait to try it in other recipes or just by itself.

Bob's Red Mill products are first class. It is inappropriate not to give this product a perfect review because someone feels they can get a better price elsewhere other than Amazon.

5 out of 5 stars Expensive, but healthy   February 2, 2010

This stuff is extremely expensive! But, quinoa has every single amino acid that we need in it, which is unique. This particular brand is the only one I will buy, because you do NOT have to soak it before cooking it. It cooks up in about 12 minutes. We use it as a substitute for rice, as it is much healthier. You can use this in stir-fry also. It kind of has a weird taste to it, & for most people is probably an 'acquired taste' lol. It's not a favorite for our 3 yr old, unfortunately.
